The photographs were taken with Polaroid Type 665 film, which yields both an instant print and a negative for later enlargement. Five double page spreads of candid colour photograph collages taken while the photographer was taking the portraits and the prints are being coated to be given away to the subjects are reproduced on the end papers and dispersed in the main part of the book. Portraits of Stephen Dupont, Jacques Menashe and a reprint of an old postcard portrait of Abdur Rahman Khan, the Emir of Afghanistan from 1880 to 1901, appear after the main sequence of portraits. aSpine title on box: The Afghanistan Wars: 1993-2012. 0aAfghansvPortraits. 0aPortrait photographyzAfghanistan. 0aKabul (Afghanistan)vPictorial works. 0aAfghanistanvPictorial works. aAustralian 7aArtists' books.2rbgenr 7aPhotographszAfghanistany2000-2010.2gmgpc 7aPortraitszAfghanistany2000-2010.2gmgpc 7aDocumentary photography.2gmgpc1 aMenasche, Jacques,d1964-
