Biography/History

Sir William McMahon, GCMG, CH (23 February 1908 – 31 March 1988), was an Australian Liberal politician and the 20th Prime Minister of Australia. He was the longest continuously serving government minister in Australian history (21 years and 6 months) and the longest serving Prime Minister never to have won an election. Held the office of Prime Minister (10 March 1971-5 December 1972) He was a Member of House of Representatives for Lowe (N.S.W.) 1950-1982.
