Notes

Title from item.

Printmaker's seal and signature present.

Yoshitoshi, the print maker, started this series of prints, titled, ' Hōchi shinbun'. This is different title from the text version of the same title, which started in 1872 and ceased in 1894. The topics of Yoshitoshi's newspaper series were taken from the actual incidents of that time. Text to supplement the image is also in the print.
