Summary

In 1957, the rural NSW town of Adaminaby was drowned beneath Lake Eucumbene, the largest of the dams created by the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric scheme. The historic township was the centre of the district with a close community of families, many of whom had lived in the area for five generations. The authority largely ignored these close connections the people of the town had when they were relocated 8 km away and the old town was abandoned.
