In 1983 she joined Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet and her repertoire included principal roles in Swan Lake and Giselle. In 1988 she joined the London Festival Ballet as a principal, with roles that included Juliet and Livia in Romeo and Juliet and the lead in The Nutcracker. Benjamin has made many appearances with leading companies, including the Australian Ballet in 1988, dancing the pas de deux from La fille mal gardee in their bicentennial celebrations.
