- Summary:
-
A seven colour screen printed poster from the anti-nuclear series parodying the Sydney Royal Easter Show produced while Toni Robertson was artist in residence at the Experimental Art Foundation in Adelaide in 1981. Features a scene from a Royal Show depicting people in an exhibition hall promoting nuclear fallout shelters, with a small mushroom cloud above them. A grandmother with a small child is carrying several showbags. The one at the front has a toy gun on it. Banners read "The police state, NSW" and "Join the defence forces," but somebody has changed some of the official "Protect and Survive" lettering with red paint to read "Protest and survive: keep your bombs (we won't need shelters)." The protestor has signed her work with an anarchist woman's symbol. Enclosed by a white border with title of work handwritten in pencil at lower left corner.
