Prices added by hand in ink apply to red or grey; other colours are 10 per cent. extra. The poster may have been used as a sales aid by funeral businesses.

The firm of William Laycock, established in 1856, had extensive monumental works in Waymouth Street, Adelaide, where blocks of granite and marble weighing many tons were cut and polished. The firm also supplied stone for the pedestals of many of Adelaide's public statues.
