Shows telegraph line, proposed route of Transcontinental Railway, location of wells, native wells, waterholes, vegetation, and topographic features. Relief shown by hachures.
- "Approximate area 20,000 square miles held under a 25 year's lease. 1st 7 years at sixpence a square mile, remain-ing 18 years at two shillings and sixpence a sq mile rental.".
- "Note. Wells numbered from 1 to 10 were made by white people. Six have a permanent supply of water in them".
