Prof. Lamberton recalls his family background; his education, Commonwealth scholarship to Sydney University (1945); influences on his thinking about Economics while at University; employment after graduation; his first book (Share Prices Indices in Australia, 1958); scholarship to Oxford University. He speaks about the publication of his PhD thesis (The Theory of Profit, 1965); Fulbright Scholarship (University of Pittsburg, USA, 1966); other books he's had published; his achievements as Prof. of Economics at Queensland University; society's dependence on computerised systems; involvement in national policy formulation, telecommunications' research and policy; methodology and style of his work over the years; conciliatory approach to mainstream economics & paradigm shift; establishment & editorship of Prometheus (Journal); Nobel Prize winners for Information Economics; discussion of his next book & search for new paradigms.

Prof. Lamberton, Prof. of Economics, Deputy Director, Centre for International Research on Communication and Information Technologies, South Melbourne, Vic. (1989-1992); then moved to the Australian National University as a Visiting Fellow, first with the Urban Research Program & since 1999 with the Graduate Program in Public Policy. Along with this position, Prof. Lamberton has also held from time to time Visiting/Adjunct Professorial appointments with Deakin University, University of Melbourne, University of Technology, Sydney, Murdoch University, and Curtin University of Technology.
