The Raven, created by Paul Wheelahan, ran for ten issues commencing in July 1962. The Raven featured Lord Ashley, the Seventh Earl of Ravenscourt, who lived in a ruined castle, Ravenscourt Manor, in England. He was a man wrongly accused of committing a crime, and dedicated himself to avenging injustice.
- Notes:
-
- Cover title.
- Not to be confused with Phil Belbin's character of the same name, who is "a mysterious flyer whose name strikes terror into the hearts of criminals all over the world" (John Ryan, 1979.) Belbin's Raven does not wear a full face mask like Wheelahan's Raven, and Belbin's stories feature in compilation-type volumes such as Triumph Comics and Gem Comics, both published by Frank Johnson. Wheelahan's Raven has its own series published by Young's Merchandising.
