- Summary:
-
"Architectural drawings are part of the complex process of building. In the beginning, they are visionary art, displaying and promoting an idea, a new shape for the world. As the project advances, drawings become key working tools, defining and resolving the multitude of choices and problems that confront any creative act. When the finished building has become a familiar part of our landscape, the architect's drawings enable us to travel within its layers. They recreate the energy of thought, planning and construction, and wonderful innovation... Drawing becomes a tool for reinterpretation, allowing us to see the streetscape we take for granted with fresh eyes. The artist's drawing of what is now echoes the architect's drawing of what is yet to be."--LINC Tasmania website, viewed 4 September 2014.
