Folkloric recording. Sid Duncan, cousin of Cyril Duncan, sings and talks about his experiences. He tells the story of the Aboriginal woman, Neemjerah being killed by blacks for stealing a fish; family members who played music; Uncles Bob (Kipper) and (Barney) Huey; Aboriginal (lingo) words in song. Duncan speaks of lingo, fish, trees, etc.; coversation about song: Bullocky-O, about Smekels mill; Uncle Barlow and brother Len going over to Bulmer show; surprise parties and tin cannoning (tin kettling); music and songs at dances; marriage; songs at dances; funeral customs; local show, dances; sports; Bachelors and Spinsters dances; people of other nationalities, expecially Germans; Tunes, German, Irish, first sets at dances; instruments, Kerosene tinner (4 strings); Gum leaf players; Aboriginals; Guitar, banjo, dances; itinerant hawkers, tea sellers, old seed man; buying instruments; Lingo and King Billy; estimating timber in your head; timber work, timber poles and working with uncles and eating ash damper.
