Mr Goodhew speaks of being inspired by a teacher's enthusiasm for the Brindabellas; skiing excursion to Mt Franklin Chalet; installing a radio at the Chalet; trip to Franklin in a Studebaker; Bendora Hut; skiing with Willie Zeiss at Smiggin Holes; making skis at Oaks Estate; seal skins and tailors' bias binding for climbing uphill; the Brumby tow; the Little Ginini Run; later Brumby tow; ski gear; various Franklin ski runs (Wood, Nursery, Slalom, Morning); Rover Scout Crew ski hut built by Dave Cook, the Gillen brothers; RMC Duntroon hut; replacement cooking range for the Chalet; attempted introduction of a wind generator at the Chalet; Balmain Cup ski competition; musicians at the Chalet; gluhwein; social make-up of the CAC; end of the lease; building of the new CAC lodge at Perisher; decline of the Chalet as a ski lodge.
