Colour lithograph poster featuring a landscape with cattle wading through a river beneath gum trees. The artist's signature appears in the lower left corner of the image which has a border of black and orange bands at the sides and grey surrounds. Title appears in lower border centre with "R.K. 5 issued by the Empire Marketing Board" lower left and "Printed for H. M. Stationary Office by Waterlow & Sons Ltd London Dunstable & Watford" lower right. According to the Victoria and Albert Museum, this is a smaller size version, reprinted for use in schools. A full size version, held in the Manchester Art Gallery, is 102 x 152.5 cm.

The Empire Marketing Board was formed in May 1926 ... to promote intra-Empire trade and to persuade consumers to 'Buy Empire' ... it was abolished in 1933--from Wikipedia, viewed 27 October 2015.
The artwork for this poster was included in an exhibition of original posters designed for the Empire Marketing Board held at the Royal Academy of Art, Burlington House, London, from 2 November 1926 (Murray Pioneer and Australian River Record, 21 January 1927, page 6, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article109356534, viewed 4 November 2015). The published poster was included an exhibition of Empire Marketing Board posters in Adelaide in 1928 (The Register, 31 August 1928, page 12, viewed 4 November 2015, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article57054453) and was reproduced in The Argus, 11 January 1929, page 7, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article3984202, viewed 4 November 2015.
