Dr Lloyd Ross, former Secretary of the Australian Railways Union, speaks about his childhood; Victorian Socialist Party Sunday school; his father's political beliefs; relationship between religion and socialism; his political activities at University; working for the Workers' Educational Association in New Zealand, Newcastle and Sydney; Secretary of the Australian Railways Union; Spanish Civil War; Labor Council in the 1930s; 2KY involvement with the Communist Party; ARU industrial issues, including dieselisation and living conditions for railworkers; appointment to the Ministry of Post-War Reconstruction; Labor Party split.
