The great Australian bank job is set in and around Sydney and Campbelltown, Australia. It is the story of Magda who specialises in stealing industrial secrets to order, and sometimes other things on behalf of international corporations, and sometimes governments. When she accidentally acquires a compact disk which contains military secrets, not only does she know she know how dangerous it is merely to possess it, she is quite aware that in the wrong hands it could start a war. Until she decides what to do, she puts it with other incriminating documents in her safety deposit box at the local bank. When four middle aged, unemployed men find an old abandoned tunnel that runs under the bank, it is the perfect opportunity to rob the bank. When they do, not only do they take the bank's money, but also the items from Magda's box. The hunt is now on. The police want the robbers, the bank want their money back. Also looking for the disc is ASIO and the CIA. A group of terrorists are also in the search and they will stop at nothing, including murder. To stay out of prison, Magda must get everything back. But can she do that, can she even stay alive? To make matters worse, she's a very fallen in love with the CIA agent.
