Sir Kenneth Bailey was Professor of Jurisprudence from 1928-1930 and Professor of Public Law at the University of Melbourne from 1931-1946. He was Consultant to the Commonwealth Attorney General's Department from 1943-1946 and was Special Adviser on International Law to the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department and to the Department of Foreign Affairs. He was Secretary to the Department until February 1964 and then Commonwealth Solicitor-General from 9 May 1946 to 14 July 1964.
