(Robert Henry) Mathews to the Degree of Doctor of Letters, 15 December 1962, from the University of Melbourne; 1 black and white and 1 colour photograph (unlabelled) - assumed to be of R.H. Mathews; poem titled 'IF', annotated, no author attributed; article titled 'Mathews' Chinese-English Dictionary', Meanjin, December 1956; letter to Mathews from Y.R. Chao, 11 December 1962, congratulating him on his Degree and talking about the pirated translation of Mathews' Chinese-English dictionary; notes referring to Mathews work in translating for the Defence Department, use of the translations and his work as a teacher and conversationalist in Chinese at the Point Cook language school.
