Australian writer of children's books. Winner of various book awards, including the Dromkeen medal in 1984, the Hans Christian Anderson Award in 1986, and the Australian Children's Book of the Year award, in 1956, 1974, 1972 and 1986. Patricia Wrightson was admitted to the Order of the British Empire in 1977 for her services to children's literature.
