It contains the place name "Botany B.," site of Cook's first landfall on the Australian continent in 1770. The globe also shows a highly provisional Alaska ("Beering's Ld."), Northwest Coast, and the re-attachment of California to the mainland. Relief shown pictorially.

Cartouche title.

In a wooden case in two parts covered with black shark skin, with both original brass eyelet clasps, and lined with celestial maps of northern and southern skies. Inside case a cartouche "A correct globe with ye new constellations of Dr Halley &c."

The globe is referenced in E. Dekker, 'Globes at Greenwich', GLB197, and in P. Van der Krogt, 'Old globes in the Netherlands', Ada 1-4.
