Reports the observations on the Porgera people, commonly known as "Ipili", by an Engan over a period of nine months. The approach to this study was a multidisciplinary one in which an emphasis was to have been made on assessing the ethnography of clan groups living in the immediate vicinity of the possible Porgera Gold Mine, and these people's relationship to neighbouring social groups. Further assessments were to be carried out on the traditional land tenure patterns and report on any dispute on land existing in this area.
