The original Silver's Circus was an Australian circus started by Mervyn King along with tentmakers, David Hardie Snr. and his two sons Les and David Jnr. King sold Silver's in 1953. In 1976 Anton & Anna [Gasser] restarted Silvers Circus in Australia.-- adapted from Wikipedia, viewed 6 April 2017, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silvers_Circus
Twins Tom and Ted Legarde were born 15 March 1931, in Mackay, Queensland, Australia. They worked on cattle ranches, and rode in rodeos before joining Buddy Williams' touring rodeo and circus and, at the age of 17, becoming Australia's youngest professional rodeo riders. They both sang and played the guitar and performed throughout Australia with the nickname "Australia's Yodeling Stockmen". In 1957, they went to America. They appeared in shows in Canada and hosted their own television series in Los Angeles. Between 1958 and 1963, they lived in Nashville and made appearances on the Grand Ole Opry, debuting with their own song, 'Cooee Call'. In 1987, they were awarded Hall Of Fame status at Australia's prestigious Tamworth Country Festival and during the 80s, they launched their own Boomerang label and made several appearances in the UK, including at the Wembley Festival. Their last US country chart entry reached number 92, 'Crocodile Man From Walk-About-Creek', in 1988.
