Oil painting depicting Nora Heysen's friend and sculptor Everton 'Evie' Stokes, in their London flat. The painting is known to have been painted in 1935, although it has been re-signed and re-dated 1938 by the artist.

Nora Heysen won the Archibald Prize when she was 27 years old, the first female artist to do so. She was also the first Australian female to be appointed an official war artist, 1944-1946.
