- Summary:
-
Poster of artwork depicting man in suit and hat, facing the viewer, and striding across image carrying bags of citrus fruits in each outstretched arm.
- Notes:
-
- Caption title.
- Tentatively attributed to Percy Trompf, on the basis of a reference in Smith's Weekly (8 August 1931, page 15) to 'Percy Trompf, who has just had another striking "Eat more oranges" poster accepted by Harold Clapp to brighten Victorian railway stations.' <http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article234998395>. However the National Gallery of Australia has a clearly signed Trompf "Eat more fruit" poster, showing a giant basket of fruit above a group of commuters (Victorian Railways poster ; no. 92), clearly produced as part of the same campaign, to which Smith's Weekly may refer.
