Includes the 2nd issue of Maskelyne's 'Instructions relative to the observation of the ensuing transit of the planet Venus over the Sun's disk, on the 3d of June 1769. By the Reverend Nevil Maskelyne, A.M.F.R.S. Astronomer Royal.'.

With three final pages of tables: A general table of the equation of corresponding altitudes, part 1; A general table of the equation of corresponding altitudes, part 2; Apparent times of the external and internal contacts of Venus with the Sun's limb of several places, as they may be expected to happen on June the 3d 1769.

The pages of monthly calendar are printed in red and black.

At foot of title page: Price two shillings and six pence.

National Library of Australia's copy includes manuscript inscription on title page to Admiral [James] Saumarez "With respectful compliments to Admiral Saumarez. A puzzle for you, sir". Also includes stamp of "E. Libris/H. G. Doggett B2 in catalogue". A bookplate has been removed from pastedown.
