Karen Doherty, regeneration forester says, "Radios are important for safety. Often the job requires us to work remotely. We depend on our radios to communicate safely. Quite often I will be out doing fieldwork alone and there is no reception on mobiles so to discuss a site it is handy to call back into the office and have support in making field decisions. Also, radios are really important for communicating with contractors - I need to call in before accessing a site with machinery, sharing a road with logging trucks."--Information supplied by photographer.
