In an artist's statement Graeme Peebles notes: "I was asked to produce 8 sequential mezzotints from 2 plates i.e. the plates were partially completed, editioned, reworked, editioned again and so forth till completion. The prints were not meant to be illustrative of the text. Initially I was only given the title of the poem Monologues and was not permitted to read the poem until the final stage of each plate so both the poem and prints would be a separate entity."

- Printed in an edition of 20 copies, with 5 additional copies reserved for the collabrators. The book contains 8 sequential mezzotints by Graeme Peebles. All books are numbered and signed by the artist.
- "This book was designed by Petr Herel at the Centre for the Development of Artists' Books and Limited Editions. The mezzotints were printed on Magnani paper by Bill Young at the King Valley Studio, Victoria. The typography was composed in 14 point Baskerville Monotype by Thierry Bouchard in Losne, France and printed by Les Petersen in July 1992." -Colophon.
