- Constructed on Cassini's projection on the origin of Delamere, and publishedin 40 sheets, reduced from the one-inch series. Sheet coverage is 54 x 36 miles, the area of four third-edition one-inch map sheets. Issued in a number of versions, some with and some without an alpha-numeric suqaring system: with hill shading, layers, or both hill shading and layers (1906-1939), outline edition (1914), training map (1912-1915), Ministry of Transport road map, outline edition (1930-1931), outline edition (1942), outline ediion (1945-1962). Also issued were district maps: Birmingham District 1933; The Cotswolds, 1931; The Peak District, 1936; and Greater London (1935-1951) which was also issued as GSGS 4159, GSGS 4679 (later M621) and GSGS Misc. 1519.
