According to the author’s website, “Quads are a new form of poem I originally developed on a Lemair Deluxe 1300 typewriter (taking advantage of the fixed width of characters). Fifteen characters, eight single-spaced lines, interlinked four times = one quad poem.” In addition to strict quad shape, the poems have no punctuation, although they use red and black text. The first edition of Quid Pro Quad was originally published in a limited edition of 50 in November 2016 and then re-issued in a 2nd edition of 7 in 2017. The poems were written during October 2016 as part of the 365+1 project (a daily online poem-centric collaboration through 2016) while the poet was a guest for the month.
