A printed order of the funeral procession of Burke and Wills, a carefully orchestrated major public event, to be led by the Castlemaine Light Dragoons and Band of the Castlemaine Rifle Volunteer Volunteer Regiment, with the 'Chief Mourners, three abreast' following the funeral car. Amongst the expected dignitaries are Howitt and his party, officers of the colonial sloop 'Victoria', and various fraternal groups. Last are 'Citizens, &c., eight abreast'. The procession is to commence at one o'clock, and proceed along Spring Street, Great Bourke Street, and out by Elizabeth Street to the Melbourne Cemetery. Citizens are requested, if convenient, to appear in mourning dress.

- Right-angles at either side reads: Streets lined with Military resting on their arms reversed.
- National Library of Australia's Broadside 1240 copy is a variant of copies in the Royal Historical Society of Victoria and the State Library of Victoria. Their copies lack the subscription information or authorisation of John Macadam, 'Hon. Sec. of the Exploration Committee', at the foot, and the sentence running at right-angles at either side reads 'Streets lined with military and volunteers resting on their arms reversed', while this version omits 'and volunteers'.
