"AUSTRALIAN SPIRIT is a compelling collection of visual art and poetry honouring our returned service personal and commemorating the ANZAC and WWI Cenentaries. This four-year project was initiated by Art Studios Co-operative in 2015 to raise public awareness and support for the service and sacrifice of our returned service men and women and their families, incorporating many well-received exhibitions across the Central Coast and regional New South Wales. This commemorative book showcases the diverse art, poetry and biographies of 76 Central Coast veterans, many of whom shared their memories for the very first time. These are emotive, living stories that need to be told and heard, and Australian spirit brings them alive in a way that history books and classrooms are unable to do."--Back cover.
