"Castlemaine Brewers was established in 1878 in Castlemaine, Victoria by brothers Nicholas and Edward Fitzgerald. The brothers re-located the brewery to Brisbane and the XXXX brand of beer has been brewed in the Castlemaine Perkins Milton Brewery since its introduction in 1924. "XXXX" itself refers to a traditional grading system for strong beer."--acquisitiond documentation.
