The Melbourne AJS Motor Cycle Club was formed on 25 April 1924. Over 100 members attended the Annual Smoke Night on 1 June 1927. This single sheet program lists the events of the evening to the recto. The menu, headed 'A.J.S. CLUB BLOW OUT' (printed to verso), includes 'Ballarat (not bitter)' and 'Engine Punch' (beverages); 'Dare Devil Kidneys' (hors-d'oeuvres); 'Skate a la Tramline' (fish); Sidecar Squab (poultry); 'Pillion Pie' (entrées); 'Leg of Cub with Grinding Paste' (joints); 'Cotter Pudding with Brake Jam' (dessert) - and other similarly described delights. -Based on Advance Australiana: Spirit of Place: A Catalogue from Ancanthe, June 2018, item 67.

AJS Motor Cycles were retailed in Australia and made by A J Stevens & Co. of Wolverhampton, U.K. The firm opened new premises in Elizabeth Street in late 1926. There were rural branches of the club in Victoria and branches in Western Australia and NSW.
