A letterpress printed broadside for a travelling vaudeville show featuring a wide variety of performers, in Cessnock, New South Wales. Printed in horizontally hand-rolled red, blue and green ink. The Cessnock Eagle and South Maitland Recorder, 12 May 1936, page 3 noted that "The show will be staged on the most up to date lines, embodying the best features of American and English presentations seen by Miss Howarde on her world tour. The prices of admission are 1/, 1/6 and 2/. Children half price. Seats may be reserved for 2/6 at A. Actor, theatrical entrepreneur, playwright and cinema pioneer Kate Howarde (1864-1939) brought live theatre to generations of rural audiences over her long career, and was the first woman in Australia to direct a feature film, Possum Paddock (1921), based on her highly successful play, which opened in Sydney in 1919 after previously touring country areas.
