Cooper, 1913-15 ; Solomon, 1912 ; J.G. Frazer, 1897-1928 and others. Also includes notebooks and diaries, 1895-1929 of trips to the Northern Territory including word lists ; journal of expedition to Tierra del Fuego, 1927 and other papers. The papers concern personal and university matters ; details on the planning and progress of expeditions ; anthropological matters including discussions on Aboriginal ceremonies and culture generally, the effect of white man, etc. ; discussion of Spencer's publications, lectures, specimens of fauna and weapons and other topics.

Biography/History

Biologist and ethnographer. Professor in Biology, Melbourne University, 1887-1919. Studied the Aborigines of Northern and Central Australia.
