"To mark fifty years of Marist education in Canberra, Marist College has published 'The Fifth Decade'. This book pays tribute to those who have been part of the College's history - students. parents, Brothers and staff. 'The Fifth Decade' gives voice to a wide variety of people who have been part of the fabric of Marist Canberra over those years including current and former students, parents, Brothers and staff in both words and photographs. At the book's heart are the thoughts and memories of Richard Sidorko, Headmaster of the College from 2006 to 2017. Richard writes candidly about his tenure at Canberra from his first day on the campus to when he led the College through challenging and confronting times. Richard also records his memories of some of the achievements and significant changes that have occurred over that time. All of this with a deep affection for Marist College Canberra. This book is not so much a historical document but more a snapshot of what the College exists as today. 'The fifth Decade' is presented to the College community in the hope that it contributes in a unique and meaningful way to to the history of Marist Canberra. Evident in every page is the strong bond forged among the students, parents, Brothers and staff, past and present."--Back cover.
