- "This map drawn on the spot by the Lama Mathematicians and corrected by the Missionaries in 1717 is inscribed by the editor to Lucius Henry Hibbens Esq.".
- "Lâsa or Barârantola, as the Tartars call it is, according to P.P. Dorville and Grueber, the name of the Capital of the Kingdom of Lâsa at the end of which Pûtâla stands, and in the latd. of 29°6', but the map differs from the observations above 30 minutes.".
