MS 9118 comprises articles and newspaper clippings relating to Barry Coldrey's work on child sexual abuse and child migration. The collection includes four bound volumes of photocopied newspaper clippings titled "Western Australian Christian Brothers boys homes and child migration, 1992-3", "Newspaper comment concerning the child migration controversy. Book two", "Sexual abuse crisis: Canadian Catholic Church, 1989-1997", and "The sexual abuse crisis: Australian Catholic Church, 1990s". The collection also contains drafts of a series of articles on the sexual abuse of children since the early 19th century, articles on Christian Brothers' orphanages and the draft of a longer paper titled, "The sexual abuse question" (3 boxes).
The Acc08.187 instalment comprises research articles on British and Maltese child migration, Coldrey's submission to a Senate inquiry into child migration, related research notes, correspondence, photographs and copies of journal articles by others on the same subject (1 box).
The Acc09.032 instalment includes photocopies of newsclippings from Canadian newspapers relating to the sexual abuse crisis in the Canadian Church 1989-1997 (1 packet).
The Acc09.47 instalment is a small collection of material written by Coldrey and gathered from the press regarding sexual abuse in the Catholic Church by clergy (1 packet).
The Acc09.120 instalment consists of two spiral bound volumes of the author's news clippings. Volume 1 is mostly concerned with child migration or sexual abuse in orphanages. The second volume contains correspondence relating to and reviews of Coldrey's book, Faith and fatherland: the Christian Brothers and the development of Irish nationalism 1838-1921, published in 1988. Most articles are dated and attributed but are not in order of publication (1 packet).
The Acc10.013 instalment consists of a spiral-bound volume titled References to Brother Barry Coldrey's writings in international newspapers, 1990 to 2009, containing printouts of online news articles relating to sexual abuse by clergy in the Catholic Church (1 v.).
