- Summary:
-
Centered on the invisibility of labour, a shared trait of both capitalism and photography, Systems of Living is a meditation on the processes of image production and dissemination. Moving fluidly between abstraction and realism, these works explore the slippages that occur when those processes are dismantled, reconfigured and reassembled, highlighting the various structures and systems that govern our everyday lives. -Colophon.
- Biography/History:
-
Jacob Raupach is an artist based in Wagga Wagga, NSW, graduating with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) from Charles Sturt University in 2013. Jacob's work is concerned with the relationships between industry, labour, history and failure; in particular, how photographs and objects can contribute alternate historical narratives and critiques of these intertwining systems. His work has continuously tried to address these issues through an examination of regional areas dealing with an ever-changing post-industrial landscape. -Colophon.
