A travel poster for the shipping line with chromolithographic artwork featuring a half-length portrait of a sailor with white hair and a moustache against a background of the sea and a rosy sky. He is dressed in a blue uniform and a sailor's duck cap with a black silk ribbon around the base with gold lettering identifying the shipping line, and has a rosy complexion, twinkling blue eyes and a slight smile. The hand-lettered text above and below the image is white with a narrow brick red border against a grey background. A thin slate blue border line surrounds the edge of the image and the edge of poster. The artwork is unsigned.

In 1932 the Shaw Savill & Albion Line purchased the Aberdeen Line and in 1933 the former Australian Commonwealth Line was also acquired to become the Aberdeen & Commonwealth Line. In 1938 the Aberdeen part of the name was dropped.
