- Accordion style booklet bound in gold paper covered boards and presented in a paper sleeve.
- This small accordion booklet contains 'Gunjin chokuyu' [the Imperial Rescript to Soldiers and Sailors] by Emperor Meiji, which was originally issued in 1882. The main section of the rescript emphasises loyalty, courtesy, bravery, trust, and frugality as the five virtues of military personnel. Two commemorative postage stamps tipped onto the last leaf. The Japanese text on the stamp reads: Commemoration of the Fall of Singapore―16 February 1942―Tokyo.
