- Summary:
-
A collaborative artists' book that invokes the ghost of Alberto Giacometti and his lithographs for his posthumous book Paris Sans Fin (Paris Without End). With life slipping away, the story (told in prose, poetry and photomontage) begins and loops around as Alberto wanders the streets with his friend Henri Cartier-Bresson's borrowed Leica. In his hands, 'the black box pulls everything into its eye / with a centripetal force / put under endless interrogation.... Yet for Alberto it's what eludes that grasp: / the indecisive, the inconclusive / moment.'
