The verso of B3 has a moveable paper nightdial pasted on to the page; the verso of C4 has a moveable roundell showing the horizon and the north and south poles. The volume is interleaved with maps which correspond to the adjacent text; many of the maps are enumerated. E4 verso contains a contents list of the maps and their position in parts 1 and 2 of the volume; the index to the charts in part 3 is on the final page above the printers colophon.

An additional map of parts of the Dutch coast is bound before page 61 of part 2.

Part 1: Map no. 23 misbound between pages 84 and 85 before map no. 24; map no. 31 misbound before no. 30 between pages 110 and 111. Part 2: map nos. 32 and 33 misbound before first page of part 2; map no. 42 misbound between pages 50 and 51; map no. 50 misbound before page 79; map no. 53 misbound before page 93; map. 54 misnumbered "3" and misbound before page 95; map no. 56 misbound before page 103. Part 3: chart no. 22 has been misbound after no. 23.

Imperfect: tightly bound with some loss of text.
