Bringing them home oral history project.

Summary

Ward, a health worker and Indigenous separated child, speaks about her removal with her siblings to Bomaderry Children's Home, N.S.W. after the death of her father. At the age of 8, she was transferred to Cootamundra Girls' Home with her sisters. She describes the living conditions at Cootamundra and the mistreatment she witnessed. Ward also talks about how childhood removal has alienated her from Aboriginal culture and affected her ability to relate closely to others.
