The purpose of this Interim Report is to record the directions and recommendations of the Commission for discussion with the ACT Government and the ACT community. The Commission has a brief to develop strategies and advice on the skill needs of the ACT both now and into the future. In taking that forward it has set up five Working Groups to explore issues at a finer level of detail. They are: Developing local talent; Attraction and retention strategies; Areas of acute shortage and strategic importance; Community interests; and Skills futures. This Interim Report draws on all those areas and addresses the most important issues. It identifies and develops directions for policy and makes recommendations.
