"In completing this second volume of work about the 1844-5 expedition of Ludwig Leichhardt I have again worked to add new commentary, reflections and quotes from indigenous people throughout the gulf country and Arnhem land. This collaboraation has been ongoing over the last 25 years. Broadly I have gathered information and stories about Leichhardt's observations and travels from the Rangers and elders from Jilkminggan, Ngkurr, Limmen Bight and Borroloola communities including Injalak Arts (Gunbalanya) and Ngukurr Arts."--Artist's statement.

- "Each book in this limited edition of 20 is a 'unique state' with map interleaves based on Arrowsmith's map of Leichhardt's 1844-5 journey identifying sites of campsites as illustrated by the etchings. Every etching is slightly different in water-colouring technique/finish making the final bound volume a 'unique state'.
