This collection is comprised of: 1. Letters to and from malacologists - such as Arthur Blok. Some of the subjects in the letters include Tasmanian and North Sumatra mollusca, Bailer shells, Bernard Cotton and his book "South Australian mollusca". 2. Andrew Bloxam's natural history notes during the voyage of H.M.S. "Blonde" (1824-1825) to the Hawaiian Islands and correspondence. 3. Papers of Charles Darwin; F.D. Godman's (1834-1919) letter book, 1879-1898; Richard B. Hinds' diary of his voyage on H.M.S. "Sulphur", 1836-1840. 4. Papers of the Royal Society of London and Sowerby family. 5. Alfred K. Wallace and his correspondence with Samuel Stevens; drafts of Sir George H. Wilkins' "Undiscovered Australia".
