Summary

"Dr. Jeremy Janes, the Flying Doctor from Mustard Creek, is called to Arthur Cruickshanks sheep station where an aborigine stockboy is dying from a mysterious illness. Accompanied by his predecessor, old Dr. Saxon, Barbara Wright, the nurse, and piloted by Copper Kennedy, Janes sets off for Wombat Valley where he finds that the boy Sammy has clearly been the victim of œbone-pointing by a tribal medicine man. But why has he been cursed, and how are they to get the curse lifted? Jeremy is informed that the witch doctor has now gone off to War Dance Island on the Great Barrier Reef. Here begins a thrilling chase by plane and small boat to capture Karajira and get to the root of the mystery. With plenty of action, humour, a touch of light romance and the feel of the wild open spaces, this successor to Flying Doctor should find many readers among older children, both boys and girls." -- Dust jacket.
