Biography/History

Explorer John King joined the 1860-61 Burke and Wills Expedition and was the sole survivor of that Expedition.

Notes

Inscriptions include: 'Lithographed by De Gruchy & Leigh from a Photograph'--lower centre; 'John King'--below portrait; 'Sole Survivor of the Burke & Will's Expedition to Carpentaria'--lower margin.

Condition: good. Portrait and last two inscriptions cut from a larger sheet and attached to a mount.
