In October 1998 the Information and Technology functions of the Dept. of Finance and Administration were transferred to the Dept. of Communications and the Arts to form the Dept. of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts. On 3 December 2007, the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts changed its name to the Department of Broadband, Communnications and the Digital Economy. Responsibility for culture and the arts was transferred to the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts. Responsibility for sport was transferred to the Department of Health and Ageing. Responsibility for information and communications technology industry development was transferred to Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research.Works by these bodies are found under the name used at the time of publication
